Mommypage Jenna H. From ?Call Her Happy? Shares her ...

Tell us more about yourself, your family, and your site.

I am a former high school English teacher turned stay-at-home-mom to my 12-month-old daughter, Ellen. We are originally from Michigan, but we are moving around for my husband?s job. I spend my days taking care of my little gal and creating content for my blog.

Why did you decide to start your site, Call Her Happy?? What has been your favorite part about it?

I originally started my blog as a way to keep the family updated on what was going on with our pregnancy. It morphed into a way to keep track of recipes, crafts, thoughts and photos. It has been a great way to stay connected with people I love and make new friends while we move around.

Your site has so many cute pictures of your family.? How do you choose what pictures to post?

I have a fancy DSLR that I love to use when I have the time. But, most of my pictures come from my iphone. I can whip it out really quickly to snap a shot of Ellen. Then, when I?m writing a post, I thumb through my phone and find pictures that illustrate what I?m explaining. Sometimes, if I have writer?s block, I scroll through photos for inspiration.

What are a few things you?ve learned from your daughter, Ellen?

I have learned patience?so much patience. I never knew I could be so patient. I also never knew how badly I could lose my patience after two hours of trying to get a certain someone to nap while only on four hours of sleep myself!

What do you think has been the most challenging part of parenting?? What has been the best part?

The most challenging part for me is confidence. I am always second guessing myself and taking people?s comments very personally. I imagine that will fade as time goes on. The best part is watching Ellen learn. Lately she has been rocking her baby dolls and giving them kisses. It makes me feel like I am doing a good job loving her if she can imitate it so well.

What are your top 5 favorite things to do with your family?

1. Go to the zoo
2. Travel home to see my family
3. Play in our baby gym class
4. Sing
5. Snuggle
